A horror legend has passed. Wes Craven was a warrior of the genre, and no matter how many times I was frustrated with his films, he always made sure to maintain the game. ‘Serpents in the Rainbow’ is an underrated gem, ‘Last House on the Left’ changed how shock movies were made, ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ proved that there was room for new legends to go alongside Dracula and Frankenstein, and even in ‘Deadly Friend’ you showed the unthinkable: decapitation via a basketball. I even liked ‘Shocker’. May you ascend proper, Mr. Craven, your films will be legacy.
